Lisa's coffee

You know how on a lot of TV shows when someone makes really bad coffee it will pour out really thick? And look like chcolate syrup? Like Lisa Douglas makes, Realisitcally can coffee be made to do that in real life?

I'm not a coffee drinker, but - I have cleaned out a few coffee pots and when there's only a little coffee left and left on the burner, it does get kind of think and gummy.

To actually answer your question, the only way I can think to make coffee that way would be to add a thickening agent, like maybe corn starch or gelatin.

Thanks :) I always wanted to make it that was as a joke lol

But I was just wondering it's possible to actually screw it up that bad in real life :)

Heated up fudge will do the same thing :-)

TV shows have long made hay from jokes about bad coffee, but even the most inept cook would learn fairly quickly how to make at least passable coffee. If you wash the pot, use clean water, and don't put too much dry coffee in the basket or cup, and don't burn it, it will be at least drinkable. It's one more thing that irritates me watching more than an occasional episode of Green Acres:
1. Lisa's cooking NEVER improves
2. Why does Oliver (otherwise a fairly sensible person) wear a suit and tie to do farm work?
3. wouldn't even the most stubborn person eventually hire a reputable builder to build a decent house?
4. How has Mr. Haney not been murdered at some point?

I think it just goes to show you, Oliver was as insane as the rest of them lol

I remember thinking, even as a kid, that what was poured there must have in fact been chocolate syrup. The Beverly Hillbillies did that at least once, also, when Ellie May was cooking breakfast. Jed admitted her biscuits may be a little tough, "...but that gravy is just the way I like it-- thick and brown." Elly says "That's coffee."

We were watching an episode where Lisa was putting "cream" in the coffee and it looked like glue! Thick and kinda goopy. We think it might have been marshmallow fluff. It was hilarious.

Lisa got away with being a bad cook b/c she ran around the house in low cut dresses or nighties.

Ellie may cooked something so bad Jed used it to fix his bootheels and they buried Her cooking . I think Jed used Her Biscuts
a clay pegions one time . I wouldve been funny if Lisa and Ellie were cooking a meal together on a crossover.
