I have been a fan of this show since the original CBS run. One of the things I always wondered is why Eva never had her real mother and sisters come on the show. Mama Jolie was such an over the top lady in real life and would have been HILARIOUS as Lisas mama.
shareHmm. Maybe the Gabor women wanted too much money? Maybe either Eva didn't want them on or they thought the show was beneath them?
But then, Zsa Zsa made a guest appearance on MR. ED, so GREEN ACRES wasn't beneath her. I remember that MR. ED appearance because of a big article TV GUIDE did about it before it aired. I had seen Zsa Zsa lots of times but I was surprised she was given such a build up. I thought the episode would be special but it was bland. You could tell she was being given special treatment. I think you can see it on YouTube, if you're interested. Anyway, maybe she would have done the show if they given her similar special treatment.

If I had to guess it might be due to Eva herself. Zsa Zsa was much more of a self promoter and this was Eva's show. Why share the spotlight with a sister that already had a spotlight of her own?
As for her mother, I don't know. Maybe she wasn't that good of an actress. Many look at a show like this as a big piece of fluff but in a lot of ways it's harder for an actor to do work like this and straight up comedy or drama. As an adult I can appreciate the writing and performances more than I did as a kid and I loved the show as a kid.
Did they even get along?
