Weirdest Last Episode Of A TV Series Ever

Season 6, Episode 26

"Oliver contacts Carol, his one-time secretary, to find out where she'd had his watch repaired years earlier. In this pilot for a proposed series, Carol now works for a domineering California realtor. She prevents her boss from being conned by a man that Oliver had tried to indict back in New York."

Watching it now, and I think Oliver and Lisa have only been in this ep for maybe 1 minute so far.

I also watched that episode today. And although I am a big fan of "Green Acres" and once had a crush on Elaine Joyce, I was not entertained watching this final "Green Acres" episode. As you mentioned, there was hardly any connection to the original "Green Acres" program. I realize that this was supposed to be a pilot for a new program. However, I'm used to seeing pilots starring one of the main characters from the original show, not all new characters with no connection to a farm.
One good thing. Now that that horrible final episode has aired, they are now airing the very first "Green Acres" episode.

I have to agree with everything you said, SealordJohn! Even down to the crush on Elaine Joyce.

Elaine Joyce.

I watch her on Match Game reruns, and she was so hot back then.

Were they aware at the time of filming that this was the last episode? I thought they were not told about cancellation until after filming had wrapped.

As Green Acres was one of the shows canceled during the "rural purge", I would imagine that you are correct about that, mmaryrocksit. Other shows such as The Beverly Hillbillies also never got to film a final episode bringing closure to these various shows.

I don't think I've ever seen the last episode of GA, did the proposed spinoff ever come about?

Nope.

You need to clarify your response. "Thankfully, no." I love Green Acres, hate that episode. Almost as cringeworthy as when the producers of Married With Children brought a character on for one episode so they could link the new show to MWC. I think that is was called Top Of The Heap. It had Joey from Friends playing the son, and only lasted a few episodes.
