Larues age

The world seems to be fairly devoid of biographical information about Lynette Winter.

If she's older than Sally Field, I doubt it's by much. She actually might have been a little younger.

Sally Field was, of course, 18-19 (born late 1946) and played a 15-year-old character. Because she was relatively small and had (and still has) somewhat of a round, cherubic face, she passed for the character's age easily.

Lynette Winter's character was slightly older (16), but I'm guessing the actress was no older, and possible younger, than Sally Field. Mild clues from her IMDB filmography:

- She played a 10-year-old girl on "Highway Patrol" in 1958. It's pretty tough to pass as 10 once you've hit adolescence, so it's unlikely she was much older than 10 at the time, and very unlikely she was older than 12.

- She appeared in an episode of "The Real McCoys" in 1960, playing "tall and awkward" Agnes Maypole, who was supposed to go to a dance with "Little Luke" McCoy. Apparently she was old enough to play "tall and awkward," which would suggest she was at least 12. The series is largely forgotten, but I believe the Little Luke character was barely adolescent. In any event, the actor who played him was born in 1946.

This suggests a birthdate somewhere in the 1946-48 period.

Her post-Gidget filmography doesn't tell much: one episode of "My Three Sons," one of "Family Affair" and a recurring part on "Petticoat Junction." I remember the series, but have no recollection of her in the first two, and maybe only a vague one of her in the third (which was a pretty awful show). So far as I can tell, there's nothing that suggests she played any parts that were inconsistent with the guess as to her age above.
