Something Ocurred to me about the hostage situation

Joey is most ruthless murderer in the warehouse. Orpheus was supposedly in jail for murder, but that all happened off screen. Clyde was an accomplice in EJ's murder, but didn't actually pull the trigger. Xander has threatened people, but to my knowledge he hasn't actually killed anyone so far (I could be mistaken, I wasn't watching while he was on last)

Meanwhile, we actually watched Joey kill Ava. Out of all of these characters, Joey has the most cred as a killer.

Right. Plus Roman and Hope have killed people in the line of duty. Hope especially was able to take down Stefano. So why can't she and Joey and Roman overtake these clowns?
