Henry's 'Concerto' sounds like a 1960's Jerry Goldsmith thriller score..

....listening to it again, Henry Orient's orchestral/piano piece kind of reminded me of the dissonant, heavily persussive scores that Jerry Goldsmith would write for suspense thrillers in the 60's...sudden stabs of music, mixed with piano and agressive drum work.

Nice. It reminds me of David Amram, who scored The Young Savages and The Manchurian Candidate. No wonder Angela Lansbury was turned on by it!

This music was written by Kenneth Lauber.

Ken also appears (uncredited) as the conductor of the concerto in the concert sequence. Of course he was much younger in the film than when I knew him, so it didn't register to me that that was him when I was watching.

THANK YOU. I've wondered for years who that was because he completely stole that scene. ("B. Flat.") It was also pretty obvious that he knew how to conduct. Maybe you'd consider amending the IMDb page to include him in the cast? And incidentally, this title is now available on Blu-ray and the release is well worth owning.
