What would YOU do if you were the last person on earth?

I just finished watching the movie again so I wanted to comment.

While watching this, I get SO distracted because I think about what I would do if I were the last person on earth. I even talked about it with my husband.

In my head - my dog has survived with me. So Foxy and I search for a car Cadillac dealership so I can get my dream vehicle...a black Escalade. But...any color would do.

I would then stop off at the mall, get a bunch of comfortable clothes like sweatpants, t-shirts, shorts and sneakers. I would also pick up a couple of coolers and some CDs.

I would definitely start smoking again. I smoked for 13 years and quit a couple of months ago but hey...if I'm the last person on earth, really...who cares if I get lung cancer in 25 years.

I would stock up on some snacks, dog food for Foxy, water, diet soda and alcohol (including vodka and a ton of Coors Light).

Since we live in MA, we would start heading south. Who wants to live in New England?!?! I am heading to warm climates!!

I would stop at any and all amusement parks on the way - figure out how to run the rollercoasters and take a few rides.

The ultimate destination would be Florida...simply for Universal Studios & Island of Adventure, and all the Disney Parks. (I am assuming I can figure out how to run all of the rides and that electricity is still working).

I'd definitely find some fields "of green" if you know what I mean. My dog and I would be relaxing on the beach until it was all over.

Hopefully, either my husband or perhaps Rob Zombie are also alive to keep me company. ;-)

I've had a few drinks so I know I've rambled. But it was fun to think about this kind of stuff.

I'd get cracking pretty fast on making sure I had food, water, and power requirements up and running before the infrastructure collapses utterly and the power goes out.

Then weapons, serious weapons. Just in case it turns out I'm not as alone as it seems. Then a heavy duty truck or SUV so I don't have to make too many trips bringing supplies back and forth from the stores to my house.

A quick check of the local animal shelters to see if any dogs survived and then its time to loot the crap outta every expensive shop that has something I've always wanted.

Once thats done, all you gotta worry about is a freak accident or some medical condition like cancer killing you unexpectedly.

hi i would do the same as you but i would most importantly stockpile weapons and ammo and hold out in a hi rise block. them creaturs will allways be an obstacle every single night. i would hope i wasnt the last man on earth cause life without human company will get boring especially the female type.

LOL I posted that a couple of years ago so my priorities have changed. However, I still drink Coors Light. It doesn't taste like anything so when I want to drink more than just 2 or 3, I have Coors Light.

If I want to drink for the taste, I like Red Stripe.

besides the essentials (defensive place, weapons, food, a generator), first thing I'd do is get books on mixing drinks and all those drinks required in the book, then raid all the gas stations and convenience stores for cigarettes before raiding all the pharmacies for drugs and books on what each pill does, because really. The last man on Earth living the most depressing existence possible, and with nobody around to judge you for your vices, why not discover a few more?

I would stock up on DVDs of ALL my favorite tv shows and movies then since I do NOT drink alchol I would stock up on my favorite soft drink (diet of course) I would find a Jaguar E 5 1960s model then I would move into the white house in Washington DC

I would find a truck, stop off at a supermarket and a military base and then head to the harbour.
When I'm there, I would find the most expensive/nice looking private yacht and sail out to about a mile from the coast. Every time I run out of food/supplies, I would head back to the coast, stock up, and sail off again.

And then if I got bored I could always sail somewhere else, explore the world :P

other plans would be to live on an oil rig and make it homely, or one of those massive freighters as you could probably stock enough food and supplies on there to last you the rest of your life.

I would be too lonely. I would look around to see if there were other people or animals alive. I would figure out a way of neutralizing the bodies without carting them around. I probably wouldn't watch TV or movies, too depressing. Maybe I'd find a sports car and drive fast, trying to accidentally kill myself. I would probably start smoking again, drink expensive wine, get expensive clothes, but in the end despair. That's why I thought The Road was too depressing as a movie. Why go on if everything was dead? Also, there was a New Twilight Zone episode where two soldiers get accidentally buried in a bomb shelter. One tried getting out, and all he found was darkness and burning plastic. The other one locked him out. Then the survivor shoots himself. He can't live alone.

Food, weapons, ammo, generators. I'd try and find a solid secure building and definitely fortify it. Head to warmer weather and where the climate is friendly and no hurricanes, tornadoes and such. Make sure I have access to feul supplies. Books, movies, music and a gym of some sort. Since we humans are creatures of habit, have some kind of routine going to keep me focus and off my loneliness. Explore and check things out, just keep moving. Discovery make be my greatest motivating factor for survival.

BTW, I almost forgot I'd start drinking again. Not excess but for the pleasure of it. I can finally taste a Don Perignon and afford it. But I still prefer beer and burbon thou.

We are assuming there are no other creatures and if there are i dont need to fortify from them. Obviuosly there WILL be a problem with wild animals eventually, but i will deal with it as it comes.

1. Get a working generator. 2 of them. Drag one home, drag one to gas station. Join the one in gas station to gas pumps. Now i have enough gasoline to last me a lifetime, so the energy problems solved.
2. Get enough refrigeration power up in my basement to store many years worth of perishable food, then drag all this food in. Drag non-perisaable food in en mass. i my nto be able to get to the store someday, but if its at home its going to be fine.
3. Find a water tower, create a link to your house, where the pressure from the tower will run the water on its own. no energy needed, ill have plenty of water. Can connect electrical boiler to make heated water.
4. Stack up on medicine and if medicine is perishable use freezer. Of course most do go out of date, but cant really help that.
5. Stack up on technology suited for entertainment and drag some trainers to keep myself fit, dont want to get a heart attack now do we.
6. Get a god car thats confortabel to drive and can be used to carry heavy items when needed. A pick-up would do.
7. Stack up on every kind of music, video and games discs i can find. very likely needing to pull a roadtrip to antoher country for it (the choices here are extremely poor).
8. enjoy life.

If suddenly this second i would become the last person on earth, i would enjoy it greatly. i hate people.

Assuming, there were no villains, monsters to kill, I think I would get bored very quickly after watching so many DVDs, playing every video or computer game. Where is the fun in doing all of that if you don't have any one to share it with? I could honestly see myself committing suicide after x amount of time. Imagine a life with no purpose, where you could have anything you wanted but absolutely no-one to share it with. That would be akin to some kind of hell for me.

I have spent over 400 hours in civilization 4 singleplayer. i did not share it - noone has ever even saw it. and i still love that game. you dont have to share to have fun.
life is already with no purpose, unless "Saving up for next item" is your purpose. the purpose of life is what you make of it. i guess your involve people.

I agree you can have fun on your own but there comes a point where you just get sick of games. 400 hours is a drop in the ocean when you have a lifetime of solitude ahead of you...
