Does Emily go back into the basement to seek revenge on Ralph, or to seek more loving from Ralph? What went on between them in the garden?

Right, but right up 'til she attacked him she seemed very enamoured with him. She seemed entranced.

Her actions didn't make sense. Why wouldn't she just try to get away then?

I think Emily initially wanted some more hot, baboon love from Ralph, but then flew into a rage when she saw him warpped around the new object of his affections, Ann.

could be that, or maybe she was just playing it all friendly so she could get close to him and gouge his eyes out.

I think Emily's encounter with Ralph pushed her over the edge and the family madness came out in her too. And yes, Emily went to get more Ralph lovin', but saw him with Ann and went postal on him.
