Jerry Goldsmith turns in an appropriatly eerie score, but I was surprised to hear music in one of the sequences that sounded very close to music in his later score for Planet of the Apes. Specifically, when Whitman escapes from the hospital there is a piano piece that sounds close to a piece in Planet of the Apes when Heston escapes from the cages and runs about Ape City.

shareI recognized Jerry Goldsmith's music and came to this site to verify it! There was a passage straight out of the tv show..."Boris Karloff's Thriller"...very eerie & suspensful. He was a genius at communicating underlying emotions!
