Seance on a Wet Afternoon 2
It's 1966 and after a major trial, Myra has been committed to an asylum and
Billy has served a short jail term with time off for good behaviour. The film begins with Billy leaving Wormwood Scrubs and him taking the bus to a large, Victorian asylum on the outskirts of London. Here he meets Myra for the first time in two years and is shocked at the cruel treatment of the inmates of the asylum.
Thinking she has regained her sanity, he 'kidnaps' Myra and takes her to a safe house in a Notting Hill slum inhabited by a hippy group. Intrigued by Myra, the hippies cajole her into performing another seance, to which she reluctantly agrees, thinking that she still has her 'gift'. During the seance she repeatedly says 'Myra killed the children' with details of horrific child murders. Horrified, Billy realises she is more insane than ever before and gives her up to the police. Passing a newspaper stand afterwards, he sees a report on the arrest of child killer Myra Hindley and realises that his wife may, after all, have had a 'gift' but now nobody will believe her.
