Attenborough wearing prosthetics (make up)?

Richard Attenborough appears to be wearing some kind of prosthetic. His nose has a bump in it I don't see in other films. Did anyone else notice that, or am I mistaken?

I didn't notice, I was too entranced by his eyes. Like the total opposite to Pinkie Brown, I never knew he had it in him.

I think Attenborough in his acting prime is absolutely magnificent & so underated. One contributor(ibbi)mentions Pinkie Brown(Brighton Rock-terrific!), the twisted psychotic that he plays there is up with Cagney & even better than the great Richard Widmark in for example'Kiss of Death'.
The character he plays in Seance has an element of the role he played as Christie in 10 Rillington Place(highly recommended, creepiest character ever on celluoid? discuss)the very quiet, inwardly greatly troubled, beaten Englishman still conforming to the accepted role of a middle class, middle aged dead on the inside male. The difference with Christie, of course, is that although he maintains that role on the outside, inside he's a very depraved man.
Plenty of other examples of Attenborough's greatness throughout his career but in Seance he's astonishingly good.

I think the prosthetic nose was added to make him look unattractive, a man who would put up with any woman, no matter how badly he was treated and ordered around.

Here is a link to an article including a photo of him in his younger days, sans fake nose. http://www.bowesandbounds.org/profiles/blogs/richard-attenborough-in-p almers-green

I noticed it right away. It had a bump and was flat at the tip.
