What's up with Osborne?

What is up with TCM's Robert Osborne during his intro on June 2nd pronouncing the title character as Ghi-doh-rah when everyone in the movie pronounces it Geedrah!!?

It makes me wonder if he even saw any of these movies. His loss!

Because "Ghidorah" is Toho's official name for the monster.

Osbourne actually pronounced it correctly. It's the people who dubbed the American version that had it wrong. Every film containing the monster from GODZILLA VS. GIGAN on, pronounces its name as Ghidorah.

Of course, Bob Osborne by his own admission has a lot of trouble pronouncing foreign names correctly (as any regular viewer of TCM knows), so even if he had the name right, chances are he'd mispronounce it anyway.
