True, but they always refer to the caterpillars and the moth as Mothra, for the caterpillars are descendents of the adult Mothra.

Mothra is essentially the Toho monster version of the Phoenix. The 'offspring' aren't really offspring. They are reincarnations of the original. When Mothra 'dies', his consciousness and life experience is transferred to the pupa.
That's even more humiliating for Godzilla, to be defeated by infants.
shareNot true... Mothra was sick and dieing and it's reincarnation was to be born. Godzilla did not kill Mothra, Mothra died in order to reincarnate into the Larvae form which defeated Godzilla.
