The deleted commercials, 60 years later
Wow, if I was around in the 60's, I would want some of those items as gifts.

60 years have passed since those commercials. The GE factories that produced all those small appliances are long gone. The little girl with the electric toothbrush would be in her 70’s today. The woman with the hairdryer and the dad with the shoe polisher are probably long gone from the Earth. This type of thinking always comes to me when I see these old commercials. I wonder if someone will think like this when they read our MovieChat posts in 60 years
shareI think the same thing sometimes, what will the kids today tell their grandkids about life on the early 21st century. I wonder will Movie chat still be around in 60 years?

As I've gotten older those thoughts constantly poke at me. Oh well, life goes on..
Here's a little arithmetic trick that always leaves me astounded and a bit depressed: subtract your age, now, from the year you were born. I'm seventy. Seventy years before I was born in 1954 was 1884. A man my age when I was born was born in 1884. Yikes!
shareHoly crap. At the time I was born, a man my current age would have been born in 1912. The Titanic sank that year.
