CRITERION IS NOT RELEASING THIS

I would love to see the copy of the newsletter from Criterion about their upcoming release of ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS. Firstly, they have no newsletter, nor do they offer a newsletter, and nor do they provide any means for anyone to sign up for a newletter, So I myself would be intently interested on whom contacted you from Criterion and gave you this false information. Secondly, I contacted Criterion myself months and months ago via an e-mail, which within 2 days I received a response back from Criterion and I was informed that they no longer own the rights to this film and it was back in the hands of Paramount, and there were discussions for a DVD release, but it was all tentative.

I don't know why it's on Amazon.com as an upcoming DVD release...its been on thier website since before December 2006, when I first contacted Criterion.

Criterion cannot release this because they NO LONGER OWN THE RIGHTS to distribute it. End of Discussion. Criterion does not OWN IT....GOT IT?

I wish people would stop making up stuff on this site and get more informed & educated before they flap their gums off, its annoying to say the least.

They most certainly do.

Criterion COULD get the rights again, I know that might be hard to understand, but that is what Criterion does.

"I wish people would stop making up stuff on this site and get more informed & educated before they flap their gums off, its annoying to say the least." My thoughts exactly. Good job Smart.

PWNED!

ThisIslandEarth needs to eat about 100 pounds of crow. He is wrong up and down, backwards and forwards, everyday of the week, and twice on Sundays. Just WRONG. Why do people spread uninformed ideas around? He has no knowledge (he doesn't even know that Criterion has a newsletter!) and he bashes everyone over the head, repeatedly saying that Criterion will not release this title. It's almost like he doesn't want them to release it or something. Total blowhard.

I like how I've been getting the Criterion news letter for months.

You think he'll ever admit he was wrong? I seriously doubt it. Next he'll be claiming that Criterion will never re-release 'Salo', even though it has been announced. Not that I WANT that piece of trash. I wonder if this guy is one of those morons who went out and paid $500 for a pirated copy of the laserdisc?

Checkout his other posts. Looks like he's a proper keyboard warrior!
