Wende Wagner's character

I think the writers did a good job of subtly explaining how western cultural norms are quickly accepted. Assimilation of another culture as part of their subjugation is a non-violent way to dominate. And culture is a good way to do it.

"Sally" the Apache girl is introduced as hanging out with a gang of white rebels. We don't know for how long, but she is shown as having eye liner, mascara, eyebrow pencil, and nicely plucked eyebrows. Not sure which of the rebel gang would have introduced her to these details. But it's a good idea when travelling into unexplored territory where primitive cultures prevail to always bring along an Avon start-up kit, and introduce the local lovelies to a mirror and the art of looking beautiful. They'll take to it like a fish to lipstick.
