An Old Man's Taste

I searched "Horn & Hardart" to which Mark's father refers a couple of times, once regrding tea, then the wedding cake.
Horn & Hardart originated theAutomat cafeterias where you insert coins & out pops your pie, etc. I can't imagine why Jay Presson Allen chose to imply in her screenplay that it was something exclusive & of the highest quality. Is there another H & H instead of the one I found?

I love Gig Young's misadventures at the Automat in that Touch of Mink, getting blasted with whipped cream & then getting slapped, presumably by Audrey Meadows, Doris Day's lonely roommate.

They had simple utterly delicious lemon cakes, a famous chocolate nougat cake and several other cakes people still dream about even now from having them as children. There were Horn and Hardhart retail stores that sold whole cakes, casseroles and such.

Thanks for the clarification. Maybe Gig Young should have played "Cousin Bob".
