In a packed theater

Saw it last night at the Film Forum, NY---the crowd was great --we hung on every line. My favorite: Marnie: 'You're so hot to play Mental Health Week.' (that whole scene) Among many others.
Most heartbraking scene: Marnie and her Mother in the kitchen: 'Why don't you love me, Mama. I've always wondered why you don't.' And when Marnie reached out to touch her, her mother moves away. Marnie: 'Why do you always pull away from me? Why?....what's wrong with me?'
It's that 'what's wrong with me' that's so heartbreaking.

feel free to share favorite lines/scenes from Marnie

I wonder if it's ever occurred to Tippi Hedren that these words could have been thought by Hitch during his entreaties to her regarding a closer relationship between them.

I know it's easy to demonize Hitchcock, since all we have is Hedren's word, given that she (dishonorably) waited until he was dead to start bad-mouthing him.
