The 2 girls are truly evil
Though I like this movie, if I were Hudson, I'd run from these psychos. There is nothing nice in the way they treat him, which sort of sets the tone for the movie.

shareThey were manipulative and annoying. Willoughby should have cut and run when he had the chance.
shareEspecially since his fiance made the two girls look like boys. Tex was one of the hottest girls I've ever seen.
"It ain't dying I'm talking about, it's LIVING!"
Captain Augustus McCrae
Couldn't disagree more with this entire post. I would take either Abigail or Easy over Tex any day of the week.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it!
theyre adorable but they were kind of evil, giggling while rock accidentily ate a caterpillar and the scene where they try to remove his cast with a saw was kind of funny/horrifying (-:
shareIt's a romantic comedy. That sort of thing usually happens in romantic comedies.

Jim Hutton: talented gorgeous hot hunk; adorable as ElleryQueen; SEXIEST ACTOR EVER
Been there, done that. Don't ask
shareThere's a definite "kooks vs. fuddy duddy" dynamic going on here. The girls are obviously much younger than Hudson. They really delight in stripping away his grumpy exterior. Especially after they find out he's a phony. A very contemporary idea in the 60's. The young generation was turning the older one on it's head during this time period.
shareAbigail today would be quickly diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, a problem therapists generally find very challenging to work with.
such people have no regard for boundaries other people set, and will routinely trample on them to get what they want. they are manipulative to the nth degree. they have huge mood swings, and are almost incurably self-absorbed. Sounds like Abby to you?
this movie would be very hard for me to watch if it weren't for Rock Hudson's awesome comedic timing.
Borderline? I got news for ya, she was over the border and deep in Tijuana buying worm ridden tequila.
Having said that, I think it would be an over diagnosis, when what apparently cured her was getting the man she wanted.
Exactly my mind there. Roger is a "phoney" as Abigail puts it, although he's not evil. His naiveté isn't justified considering he enjoys great luxuries without really deserving it. We always see such people around us right? Who just show off, and get more admiration than those who really try hard genuinely or has genuine skills sets or tastes...
If such people get a bit of a shake-up, it can make an excellent plot for a romcom which this movie is.:) And Paula Prentiss was so good, it made her look hotter being evil.
