I'm calling bull sh*t on that interview, apparently Joan Crawford was still in hospital when she found out Olivia had replaced her. Still though I really enjoyed the interview and it gave me a good laugh and would love to believe it was really true.

Yes, I, too, would love to think it went down that way.
I suppose it's possible that Joan left the hospital and showed up on the set once she'd heard Olivia had been hired and feigned ignorance about the re-casting just to see what would happen.
That's not beyond the realm of possibility.

It just didn't happen. I guess you could say the closet Crawford came to returning was when a case of Pepsi was delivered to the set to refill the machine she had installed there.

Oh, PrometheusTree64...obviously there are details that until now have remained unknown to you and one of them being the case of Pepsi that was in fact delivered to the set on Sept 3rd to refill the machine Joan had installed there. And its removal on Sept 4th.
