Victor Spinetti, R.I.P.
Victor Spinetti, who played the television director in AHDN and appeared in all three Beatles movies, died in London on Tuesday 19 June 2012 of cancer. He was 82. A good obituary appeared the following day in The New York Times and in several major British newspapers. (I recommend reading the obits in The Telegraph and BBC News. They are very detailed.)
One line in this movie which I never could understand was the director's fear that if he failed at his assignment with The Beatles he would be demoted to "The News in Welsh." The obituary told me that Spinetti was born in Wales.
