Showing in theaters starting July 4th, 2014

We've probably all seen this movie numerous times, but if you're like me — never on the big screen — the medium it was created to be experienced in, and the way it was experienced by everyone in the 1960s.

Some places it seems to be playing just on July 4th, and other places it's playing for a week.

I remember when "Yellow Submarine" was re-released to theaters around 1999 — not only was it great to see it on THE BIG SCREEN but also fun to be in the theater with, and hang pre and post show with, a ton of joyous motivated happy Beatles fans.

This is the way the movie was designed to be seen and heard — and I'm looking forward to doing exactly that the first chance I get!

Thank you for posting this! I went to a special screening of Yellow Submarine in 2005 and it was joyous. Everyone singing "All Together Now" was an experience I'll never forget.

I'm hotly debating whether I go to the movie dressed as a Beatle, or if I take my one chance to go to the theatre dressed as a screaming Beatle fangirl. Do you think a lot of other people in the theatre will scream?

Go dressed as a Beatle circa '64 and be sure to wear genuine, Cuban heeled Beatle boots. You will tower over your friends.

I saw it at BFI Southank, London last night. Absolutely brilliant to see it on the big screen with superb sound. A special day. Theatre wasn't even half full though! Bfi need to advertise more! Grotty!

When it first came out, my older sister took me to see it --- I was just shy of my sixth birthday. I decided to scream when the screen-kids started screaming. My poor sister.

Saw it in the theater again, oh, maybe about 10-15 years ago during a Classic Summer Movies fest--in the theater where I saw it the first time, so that was very cool.

Saw it this past Saturday night but I think that my friend and I may have been the only ones singing along. Everyone applauded at the beginning and end though.

So now I happily await whatever forces a fourth theater showing, even if I am pushing a walker and in my dementia, think that I did finally marry George.

We saw it today near BALTIMORE. Fantastic! The new copy and 5.1 sound are great. This is a timeless masterpiece of a movie. Lots of singing along, but no screaming!

I first saw AHDN at the drive in in 1964 when it came out. It took a lot of coaxing to get my parents to take us. I eventually wound up in the driver's seat, my mother in the front passenger and sister in the back. Father took a nap in back seat. Loved how my mother was sad when they got thrown off the "private" field. I didn't realize how truly funny it was and very quirky. When I see it now I realize it was British humor at its best. "What a clean old man."

Saw it last night, and would recommend it.

No screaming in the audience. Precious few people under 50 in the audience, for that matter. If I'd heard a scream, I'd assume someone had fallen and couldn't get up.

I imagine if that happened, they'd simply say, "I've fallen...and I CAN'T GET UP!!"

Saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it seeing it on the big screen after 50 years of seeing it when I was 12. Loved the humor, but most of all, the MUSIC. It was a joyous experience to remember the Fab Four as they were when I was totally caught up in Beatlemania. Interesting close ups on stage...could see their teeth close up, their nose hairs, stubble and sweat on their faces.

I love what they've done with the video & audio. It's great.

Beatles forever.

I've now seen it in theaters twice over the last two weeks and I'm strongly considering going for a third time next week (it keeps getting held over!). Never saw it before this, but then, I'm something of a recent Beatles "convert" so I'm going through a lot for the first (or, first "real") time. Saw it with my parents (mother, then father). Loved it!!! Just pure fun...I'm always smiling when I leave the theater. :D
