Paul's grandfather...
He looked very clean.
Language! The thing that means stuff.
But was better known as a "Dirty old man!" :)
shareHe broke me up when he criticized Ringo for wasting his time with "a bloomin' byewk!" (Took me a while to realize he was talking about a "book".) He and the TV director – the recently deceased Victor Spinetti – were the best supporting actors in this movie, although the Beatles' manager (Norm) and his sidekick (Shake) were also good.
Even "Millie," the woman who engaged John in an Ionesco-like conversation in a studio hallway (played by Anna Quayle) was very good in what was basically a throwaway part.
Wilfred Bramball was the funniest actor in the film. Love how he was always looking to make trouble. How he encourages Ringo to go parading and love the scene in the canteen where he is looking for sugar and they take away his coffee/tea. The best line in the film when he takes some chips from a customer at the Cirque and says "Bingo." He added so much to the movie..."A nation once again....a nation once again."
