The Evil of Frankenstein DVD
Will there be a The Evil of Frankenstein DVD?
Charles
Who knows? Universal sucks when it comes to releasing the hammer films. They haven't released Brides of Dracula or Curse of the Werewolf on DVD either. We can only hope that they'll get with it and release a nice anamorphic DVD sometime soon. So far I've not seen anything indicating that there will be such a release anytime soon.
shareLet's also hope that they will include the additional footage that was cut into the film for its initial U.S. television broadcast. This consisted of flashback footage showing how the mute girl became mute (after encountering the monster as a little girl). When Universal first released EVIL OF FRANKENSTEIN to home video (the box with the rather amatuerish artwork), the running time listed on the box was several mintues longer than the actual film, which made me think upon initially buying it that it would be the version of the film with the additional footage. This was not the case. Then, when the film was reissued with the photo cover, the time on the box had been corrected to correspond with the film's actual running time.
shareTheres a 2-disc 8 film set coming out sept 6th featuring Brides of Dracula, The Curse of the Werewolf, The Phantom of the Opera, Paranoiac, Kiss of the Vampire, Nightmare, Night Creatures and The Evil of Frankenstein. I'm wicked excited!!! I LOVE HAmmer films
shareYeah, but WHEN will Evil of Frankenstein be released in the UK on DVD?
