Frankenstein's Evil Unleashed on DVD!

Just in time for Halloween 2005, Universal is going to release 8 Hammer Films on a double DVD set: BRIDES OF DRACULA, CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF, EVIL OF FRANKENSTEIN, KISS OF THE VAMPIRE (aka KISS OF EVIL), NIGHT CREATURES (aka CAPTAIN CLEGG), NIGHTMARE, PARANOIAC and PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

The set is actually quite good, barring some jittery projection in one scene of "Night Creatures" and flawed colour restoration in "Phantom of the Opera" (such that some people have grey noses to go with their fleshy faces, and the colours seem smeared in some of the openning scenes).

While I'm normally more of a fan of director Terence Fisher's Hammer Films, I highly recommend Freddie Francis' "Paranoic" and "Nightmare" from this set.

Just watched the first seven over three days, with "Evil of Frankenstein" itself on my list for tomorrow night after classes.

A great DVD set, at a great price...

But WHY haven't they released Evil of Frankenstein here in the UK?

Obviously because all of you are bowlegged.

Nothing exists more beautifully than nothing.

Are the movies seperate in this set or is it a fold out set?

2 double-sided discs (each side containing 2 pics) in a flip-open box. Not as attractive as the Universal classics compelations but it's still great to see come of these classic Hammer movies on dvd.
