the Svengoolie show - Saturday June 14th at 10PM / 9C on the channel MeTV . ( PS - Here is a interesting Fansite for all the " Hammer Frankenstein Sequel Films " too ---- http://mondo-esoterica.net/frankenstein/hammer/index.html ---- )
I'll be watching with a Bud Light in one hand and some nuked popcorn in the other.
BTW, thanks for the link. It sounds like there were some other movies that Hammer studios has sponsored. The short review for this movie says it's the "weakest of the series". I hope Sven shows some of the other movies listed 'cause they sound like they're better than this one.
Anyway, I'll be watching so I can form my own opinion. It will probably be a little more forgiving depending on how many beers I've had.

Great Eddysfitzboy seems like your all prepared for tonight's movie . You're most welcome for the link too . I actually haven't got a chance to read the reviews on that website page yet but will check it out soon . It just looked good enough to share with everyone here of what I did see of it . Unfortunately I have to venture out tonight but will try to make it back in time for this movie . I so want to see it anyway whether good or bad . Perhaps this movie didn't do so well was because of the Frankenstein makeup shown on the movie posters but hey in those days these films were most likely always on a budget . So in my mind it will make do can't complain about this film here either . Thanks Eddysfitzboy for your reply .
still behind trying to catch up watching Shadow of the Cat from last week. Its not as cheesy as I thought it would be, despite its ridiclous premise.
So its Evil of Frankenstien one of the the "good" movies Sven shows? I have been watching for a bit now and realize some weeks they are good movies like the one with Bela they showed about a month ago and others are pretty awful. I didnt even make it through the Island of Terror.
Well I made it back in time watching now too . So far I think this one is good ( IMPO it seems to have been judged too harshly ) . Then again I usually like most of the movies on this Svengoolie show anyway . Of course I do agree k-man-3 some movies are better than others on different weeks . I actually missed the movie " Island of Terror " last time around . Perhaps I will catch it again on a rerun show was curious to see what that one was about anyway . Thanks k-man-3 for your reply .
Moreover, it actually inspired me today to purchase the three remaining films from my collection. For some reason, these films, along with Frankenstein: The True Story (1973 check it out, it's brilliant) are movies that, upon discovering in the past year, I've re-watched two times already, and get a sort of craving for.

It's so true romefan123 . I find certain classic films I have watched before do have a way of leaving a lasting impression on me and makes me want to view again and again also ( definitely understand what you mean here ) . Enjoy your three remaining films for your collection ( purchasing instead of renting them seems to pay for itself over and over and worth every penny too IMPO ) . Thanks also romefan123 for the recommendation on the 1973 Frankenstein film ( I will most definitely be looking out for that one either on cable or On-Demand ) .
You may, indeed, remember this. It as a made-for-tv event, spanning two nights, the film being THREE HOURS long. It's the one where the Baron is working with another doctor, and he animates an arm itself..and the arm knocks on a door to a chamber, comes out, and is crawling on the floor--eerie stuff.
Well-acted, great film, but with a twist on the typically horrid "monster". Wikipedia does it justice:
"A notable feature of the production is that, instead of being ugly from the start, the Creature is portrayed as physically beautiful but increasingly hideous as the film progresses, similar to the plotline in Hammer Studios' The Revenge of Frankenstein. The make-up was by Hammer horror veteran artist Roy Ashton."
WHOA ! You were not kidding romefan123 quite cutting edge for a 1973 film . Thanks for sharing this most excellent trailer with me too . This movie would be awesome to show on the channel TCM ( Turner Classic Movies ) especially in the month of October - HALLOWEEN would be just right for this one .
Glad you enjoyed it...might be worthy of a purchase...found myself watching it four times the first year...and it's rarely on TV, I've never seen a showing of it once.
:)

I'm certainly not as expert on the Frankenstein films as you are romefan123 . As is you seem to already know the " serious top gems films " here ( all excellent choices BTW too - thanks again ! ) . I did however find this list of Frankenstein films and have seen a few of them myself over the years too . It looked like an interesting list anyway from what I saw of it ( but haven't checked the clickables on the titles as of yet ) ---- http://www.eeriebooks.com/horror-movies/42-frankenstein-movies-to-see- before-you-die/ ---- . As for the " Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde " Films the only one I can recommend at the moment ( and most likely you may have already seen it too - cause this one is an absolute memorable gem IMPO ) would be the one from 1941 with actor Spencer Tracy . Which is one of my top favorites ( very creepy indeed ) .
Have seen the Spencer Tracy one, which is excellent, agreed. There was a silent film that is quite good too, eerie and extraordinarily made for its time. Worth a look.
As for your list, thanks, wow, what a thorough examination of what's out there...some of these I've seen, but others will look for. Nice work.
Oddly, they bashed the 1973 Frankenstein: The True Story, despite my hype. They didn't see the same movie I saw. I cannot recommend it more, for someone who really loves the concept of Frankenstein, the story, and the pace of the Hammer films. It's contemplative, slower (3 hours long, which, if you love it, becomes a God-send in lieu of the 90 min Hammer film). Has an eerie, uncomfortable feel to it....it's probably only $5.00 on Amazon...might be worth your while.
Svengoolie for President 2016!!! :)

You're most welcome romefan123 . So glad I could be of help here with those lists links for you . Always remember - a movie usually doesn't have to be " popular with the masses " for you as an individual to enjoy it . If it holds a special place for you then that's what matters most . I myself over the years have had a few movies that stayed with me always and hold a special place in my heart & mind for too ( even if it wasn't appreciated by the majority of film viewers or movie critics - can't please everyone I guess ) . It's a wonderful thing when a film leaves a moving and lasting impression for always .
" Svengoolie for President 2016!!! :) " ---- That's a comforting & fun thought - bring it on !
Again you're most welcome John / romefan123 . I'm glad I could be of help just some encouragement from one movie fan to another here that's all . I don't know if you're a fan of werewolf movies too ( but of course you are a Svengoolie Fan ) . If so I posted on it's IMDB board for tonight's Svengoolie show movie - " The Curse of the Werewolf " from 1961 . I've seen it before last year and it's a good one ( but very tragic storyline to it - and that's all I will say about it ! ) . Thanks again for all your wonderful replies too .
That's totally OK romefan123 everyone has their own likes or dislikes here - not a problem was just passing it on to you just in case ( didn't want you to miss out on it here ) . I actually like all of those " creature of the night themed flicks " and the Frankenstein flicks as well ( must be the tragic storylines that get me ) . It brings back memories of all these movies I watched back in the 1970's and 80's ( good quality TV time moments ! ) .
