Peter Lawford...3rd billled?

Yet he's in the movie barely 10 minutes? (IF THAT!)

Dammit Carol Sue, where is the vodka?!

reply

He had a good agent.

In my case, self-absorption is completely justified.

reply

And must've boinked the right person! LOL!

reply

Only if you consider then-sitting US President JFK's sister the right person. Any gossip there. Man, this was filmed in 1963. What a year!

reply

Supposedly he jumped at this because he got cold feet and dropped out of what became a huge smash, Baby Jane.

reply

___I can't imagine what part Lawford would have played in Baby Jane. At any rate his career was sinking fast, and as Bette said, "he was a mess". I loved the scene where the Sargent drops by to see Magaret de Lorca and drops the news that she was down at Edie's Bar the night she committed suicide. Lawfords character Tony is already suspicious. The look on his face must have been similar when he discussed Marilyn Monroe's 'suicide', which he was heavily involved in a year or so before this film.

reply

He was supposed to play Victor Buono's part in Baby Jane.

reply

___If so, Victor Buono was infinitely a better choice.

reply

Interesting, that they had in mind a handsome middle-aged guy, but replaced him with a plain, obese, younger guy.
