Line of dialogue

" I would spit, were I not in God's house."

This line popped into my head the other day for no particular reason,
and it's been driving me nuts. Is this from Becket? Or perhaps, Lion in Winter?
Or some other movie altogether. I seem to remember O'Toole delivering the line.

Thanks in advance.

reply

It was O'Toole as Henry II in Becket. Speaking to Bishop Folliot.

Ah,yes. Now I remember. I don't know why this particular line kept repeating itself in my head, as I am not terribly religious. Just an insistent remnant of a dream, perhaps. I must have seen Becket thirty or forty times by now, but I just couldn't place that line. Must be getting senile.

Many thanks, Good Lady.

You're most welcome :) I know how annoying it is!
