Peter O'Toole's DVD Commentary

Peter O'Toole's commentary on the DVD is delightful. He comes across as a deep, knowledgeable, funny, vivid person. His comments about Burton are so generous and loving.

Not bad for someone with such a pretty face.

Wish I could have dinner with him sometime. He sounds like he would make an enthralling dining companion. Or a captivating university professor.

I concur completely!

I love it when the DVD commentary is as good as the movie itself!

Peter O'Toole would be on my short list too for someone to have dinner with- he seems absolutely amazing- and just think of all the things he has seen AND done!!!!!! :)

Arguably the greatest commentary I've yet heard.

"Anyone can go to Baghdad. Real men go to Tehran!"

This is one of many films for which O'Toole should have won an Oscar.

I love his commentary, it confirms a lot of my own theories about acting which seem to be contradictory to the ones normally touted at university. I also love the way that Kermode will go into deep explanations of certian things, ending with a question to which he simply replies "yes" as if to say "well isn't it rather obvious?", which it usually is. He is terribly sweet about Burton, and everyone else as well, especially Wolfit and Guilguid. Besides all of that I could just sit and listen to his voice for hours, it's just captivating. I agree he'd make a good dinner guest but as to a lecturer, I'd never take any notes, I'd be too entranced lol :D

I just listened the Audio commentary, it was truly a delight to hear Peter O'Toole talking about a number of issues related to this wonderful movie (and not related as well).
The man besides being a fantastic actor is also a very knowledgeable person.

I highly recommend everyone to listen the audio commentary. Besides Peter O'Toole a film critic whose name is Mark Kermode also participates.
