I was wondering if the producers of the show would have finally got around to having Gomer marry Lou Ann?

At one point he started to call her his fiance' but I'm not sure what episode that started. Anyone know?

I don't know. But they should have shown Gomer being married to Lou Ann in Andy Griffith's 'Return to Mayberry' movie. The movie showed that Gomer and Goober owned the G&G filling station and auto repair shop but didn't elaborate on whether Gomer had married Lou Ann or not.
