Don Knotts spotted in an episode

While watching the DVD of the season one episode "Gomer and the Dragon Lady," I noticed that Don Knotts can be seen in the background. At what is no doubt an inside joke, a movie poster for "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" has been slightly re-dressed as a fake movie named "Ship To Shore." It can be seen over Duke's right shoulder in the scene that takes place at the movie theater where Gomer has just seen "Ma and Pa Kettle in Hawaii," (another fake movie title.)

There was another episode called "A Visit from Cousin Goober" where Gomer's cousin, Goober (played by George Lindsay), who took over Gomer's job in "The Andy Griffiths Show" visited the camp and the confusion over names nearly drove Vince Carter nuts.

reply

But there is a real movie titled "Ma and Pa Kettle at Waikiki".

Could you post where you see him?

I've watched the episode twice now and don't see him...

And you wanna know the worst part? You're from outta state!

reply

The exact place to see the poster with Don Knotts on it is detailed in the original post.

Superstitious people are bad luck.

Yes I saw what the OP wrote but I still just don't see it!

It's the movie poster in the background.

Here's a link to the episode on youtube.

Freeze the picture at the 15:16 mark and look to the left of Ronnie Schell. You can see Don Knotts on the movie poster for a move called Ship to Shore which is just a re-dressed poster from The Incredible Mr. Limpet.

Then compare the movie poster in the episode to this one:

Good eye. That poster from that angle doesn't look anything like Don Knotts.
