Aunt Bee's visit and Opie's vist

I just read the post about Goober's visit. There were also visits from Aunt Bee and Opie, probably in at least the third season. I don't remember what the premise was for Aunt Bee's visit, but the premise on Opie's visit was totally out of his character. He got behind in some subjects at school and Miss Crump was about to send bad mid-term reports on him. He decided to run away from home and join Gomer's Marine platoon. He somehow got to an airport and made up a story that he had been separated from his family, so he was given a plane ticket to California, then he somehow got onto Camp Henderson and into Gomer's locker.

I remember a family discussion about this episode. Everyone felt that it was totally inconceivable for Opie to do this. Of course, all ended well with the Marines arranging a flight for Andy to come out and take Opie home. The base newspaper did a story also.

As far as I remember, these crossover stories never were mentioned on the Andy Griffith end, definitely not Opie's. Am I correct?

They were never mentioned on TAGS, none of the three visits, unless these are edited bits for commercials nowadays.

Even more interesting, there was a crossover between Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley, where Fonzie and Richie were held hostage by a Swedish farmer wanting them to marry his daughters, Richie had to run and get help, so he said they were engaged to L&S and now he had to bring them to the farmer.
L&S were also camping nearby in the woods, how this all began. When Happy Days was followed in primetime by L&S, it was no problem to see the two parts, but when the show went into reruns and the L&S episode was nowhere to be seen, Happy Days had an end bumper made where Fonzie was released because he promised Potsie and Ralph to the farmer's daughters. I didn't see this little snippet until decades later.

The only other Happy Days-L&S crossover I recall was Fonzie delivering a baby and L&S had to babysit the kid, tho these episodes don't directly fall into one another as the Swedish farmer did.

I wonder if there is a snippet like this with Howard and Andy and Emmett talking about Opie or Goober or Aunt Bea visiting Gomer that is always cut off now.

What was odd was in my 'neck of the woods', Andy Griffith reruns had essentially stopped in the early seventies, but I grew up watching Gomer Pyle, so when aunt Bea, Opie and Goober showed up, the older sibs were exclaiming who they were and I didn't have a clue who they were.

Gomer Pyle would go out of rerurns before andy Griffith would turn up again around the mid-seventies.

all three episodes are up on youtube, by the way, as I looked for them and watched them.
