Anyone ever notice in the pilot episode Andy meets Sgt Carter and convinces him that Gomer is related to General Pyle.
In a later season Opie runs away to camp Henderson and Andy later comes to retrieve Opie. Gomer says its the first time his favorite people get to meet, or something close to that.
That completely forgets the fact Andy and Sgt Carter met when Andy took Gomer to Camp Wilson for his induction
Perhaps my memory fails me, but...
I believe in that episode where Gomer joined and Andy talked to Sgt. Carter, Gomer never knew Andy had talked to him. I remember that Andy stayed in the background to make sure Gomer wasn't going to be sent home, that is, rejected. He met Carter and told him that "fib" to get Carter to spend some extra time helping Gomer get squared away.
As far as I recall, Gomer never knew the two had met.
True. But I guess Andy and Carter forgot each other as well. You'd think Carter would remember the man who tricked him.
