Jack Larson played Sergeant Carter's corporal on the opening episode for season 2. I wonder if he was intended to be the regular corporal but perhaps because he was typecast from playing Jimmy Olsen on Superman he never appeared again. It was good in the sense that soon Roy Stuart joined as Corporal Boyle who I liked.

I thought he was trying a little too hard. Roy Stuart was a good choice.
I remember that episode. Too bad for Larson that he couldn't rejuvenate his career on this show, but he had more experience as a bumbling "urban Gomer"-type (as in playing Jimmy Olsen) than as a straight man.
Jack Larson has just passed away at the age of 87.
