Sometimes when you watch an old TV show it is a bit of a downer when you realize that many of the actors are no longer with us.

I nearly forgot that Frank Sutton passed away from a heart attack in 1974. He was only 50 years old.

I always thought Cpl Boyle, looked the fittest in his uniform. Sgt. Carter was a bit stocky, and Gomer despite being tall and lanky, his belly stuck out. So, Frank Sutton died of a heart attack, when I would watch this show with my best friend growing up, she always commented that Sutton died of cancer.

reply

I heard Frank Sutton practically lived on coffee and cigars.
