When will it be recycled?
Given the propensity for Hollywood to recycle and "modernize" the drek of the past, when will we see this generation's Jim Nabors portraying the bumbling Marine? Shall I start on a script treatment?

shareI usually loath reboots or whatever you want to call them. I don't think TV shows translate well to the big screen. A lot of people thought "Gomer Pyle USMC" was dated when it was on the air. I grew up watching the reruns in the '70s. Are today's kids familiar with Gomer? That would be important to the movie studios and/or producers.
shareToday's kids would find GP too unsophisticated. As to casting I shuddered back in the late 1990's when Will Ferrel was mentioned for such a project as far as a movie was concerned. Jim Carrey is too old and I do not know the 20-30 year old actors that would be suitable.
