Question about one of the dream sequences

In "The Sound of Quacking," during the old west sequence, as the professor and Mr. Howell walk by one of the buildings, you can see a man's face looking out the window. I've always wondered if this was a cameo by someone who worked on the series. Anyone have an idea who it might be?

reply

Not sure...I've never read any trivia about it. It isn't mentioned in the books by Russell Johnson and Sherwood Schwartz, either.

Kind of a creepy moment, though -- something about that face is unsettling. Perhaps it's the ghost of Alan Hale Sr. 

reply

I am watching it right now [daily motion] and I don't see anything... I DO see someone in a white shirt by the barred window who I think is Mary Ann. but no other faces in windows.

There are a lot of people who slammed doors as the bad guys walked past.

Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.

reply

okay, I watched it again and he IS There. weird. but often times in westerns they did that. have someone creep out a window.

Good to know, deem...but the OP asked "Anyone have an idea who it might be?" not "Why was the guy doing that?"

reply

In the establishing shot, they show some extras just walking about the street, but you can't really see any of their faces. That's why I was wondering if there was something special about this guy. Also, I don't remember seeing anything like this in other episodes. But maybe you're right, and it's just a western thing. :)

reply

Well, that was certainly odd.

The only think I can say is that The Professor looked very dapper in the black.
