Meeting Elizabeth Montgomery

I saw this on Quora.com. Someone posted about meeting Elizabeth Montgomery:

“When I was 15 my (then) brother-in-law was an actor who had just finished a part on Bewitched. We were in LA to visit my sister and him, and he took us on a backstage tour that the public doesn’t usually get. We visited the set of Bewitched and I got to visit Elizabeth Montgomery.

Beautiful does not even come close to describing her. She was busy, but she took a few moments to speak with me and for those few minutes, she made me feel like I was the most important person in her world right then. That is a rare quality.

I will admit that I cried like a baby when she died much too young from cancer.”

Great story. I'd love to know what guest actor this was, as well as which episode.

And the fact that she took her time to be pleasant to a 15-year-old relative of someone who wasn’t even a regular costar tells tons about Elizabeth Montgomery. She never felt that she was better than anyone.

I remember that. It touched me when she did die. I still love watching the episodes. They are classic.

sweet!

Her character made her a truly beautiful person.

reply

She seemed really sweet. I could tell that by just watching the show.

I remember reading an interview with the late, great baseball announcer Vin Scully some years back and he was asked who was the nicest celebrity to him. He said Elizabeth Montgomery. I think she must have been a sweet person in real life (even though she had quite the interesting personal life).
