Loved this show as a kid...was appalled at the censoring later.

I was too young to appreciate the show in 1964 but I was old enough to enjoy it in 1968 in its reruns and even at that age I took notice at how villains and sometimes innocent bystanders died in ways that were graphic but not bloody as most grisly deaths were off camera and implied rather than stated while cleaner deaths occured right on camera.

When they brought back these shows for the 70's I was angry and disappointed that they cut out a lot of the death scenes. They were afraid that the content would upset children or get them to imitate what they see.
HAH! I watched the show at 5 years old and while it was pretty intense it did NOT convince me to imitate what I saw mainly because I saw that if you're blown up by dynamite, you DIE!

I watched live-action shows with my parents like 'Mission Impossible.' and saw even gruesomer deaths. So censoring kids shows is not only a waste of time and effort it renders a BORING show.

That's why I TOTALLY HATE shows from the 80's like GI JOE because in that show we have two entire armies going at each other with tanks, jet bombers and machine guns and NOT ONE CASUALTY on either side of the battle!!

Gimme Jonny Quest anyday. I'm going out to buy the dvd collection with prayers that it hasn't been censored.

Six years later and America is more pussified than ever. Welcome.

They tried showing JQ on a college campus but there wasn't enough puppies and Crayolas to keep the SJWs from instinctively assuming a fetal position and whimpering involuntarily.

I noticed that myself. When you live in a valley of tigers you should never forget your spear.

This show was one of the better ones on Saturday mornings. Cartoons got really dumbed down later.
