Morticia Speaks French But Gomez Doesn't Notice!

The other night (or maybe I should say the other dawn, considering the 5AM time slot) I was watching "The New Neighbors Meet the Addams Family" episode.

In the final scene, while Gomez and Morticia are talking with their frazzled new neighbors (and arranging their futures), at one point Morticia exclaims, "Au contraire!"

What got my attention is that Gomez didn't react! As far as I can recall, it's the only occasion where Morticia drops a French expression and it goes right past Gomez.

It's such a signature Gomez reaction that I'm surprised that the production team, cast, etc. didn't notice it was omitted. I certainly did!

I'm assuming it was an oversight because I can't see why they'd intentionally script an unexplained non-reaction. I mean, I don't think they'd deliberately omit it or cut it out because of time constraints or whatever.

Can anyone think of any other instances where Morticia speaks French in Gomez's presence and Gomez doesn't react in his usual way? I can't.

The episode where Gomez runs for mayor. He is upset over the debate and ignores Morticia speaking French.
