Of course it doesn't. That's the whole point. To us "normal" folks, the Addam'es are strange but they see things in a different light. They accept the 'different' people they meet and deal with.

what made no sense to me was that the Addams never seemed to notice that everyone else was different to them. but they were funny anyway.
shareI think they realized they were different but they just thought everyone else was screwed up. Apparantly though they had their circle of friends, they had visitors from the Old Country who seemed similar to them, plus Morticia once spoke of a shop she went to to buy special exotic things for her cooking. So apparently there was a community of Addmas-like people.

Then there was the Frump Family, they were like a cross between normal and weird. Hester and Ophilia still liked traditionally pretty things, but also had dark tastes too. This showed when Ophilia says she was making a bouquet of roses, daises and weeds!
I remember Hester Frump was a little bit put off and seemed shocked at some of the Addams' behavior, but also displayed behavior herself that would put off a totally normal person.
