Shocking Near Nudity
I give Roger Corman an A+ for going as far as he could! Beautiful women at that party, even his older doctor girlfriend! Van Der Vlis also had a beautiful voice.

shareI saw this at the cinema as a 12 year old in 1963, and thought it was pretty nice to see some (near) naked people in the party scene.
Nothing like today of course, but in those distant days, bare legs, arms, and shoulders was SENSATIONALLY hot....

I saw it on television (WPIX in NY) around 1974 when I was 9 and it was equally "eye-opening" for me. Probably the most "nudity" I had seen on television at that time. Even though I didn't like girls yet, I always have enjoyed the sight of a woman's shapely bare legs. π

Always thought that scene was laughable, since their bare feet were up against the carpet. Wouldn't there have been an invisible space where the shoes would be?

I just watched this scene last night. Everyone was very artfully positioned to show nothing, while giving the expression that everything was on display.
If the movie had been made 10 years later, everything would have been on display. π
