Funny Hope Summers Connection

This isn't a big deal, but my wife and I always have thought that Hope Summers, who portrayed Clara Edwards in The Andy Griffith Show TV series, would have been perfect in the cast of the 1970s TV series, The Waltons -- one of our favorite TV shows ever. Her Clara character was somewhat similar to the "Godsey Sisters" characters in The Waltons.

Just today in looking on-line to fine out more about Ms. Summers' TV and film work, I was very nicely surprised to find her listed in the cast of Spencer's Mountain, portraying Mother Ida. The Waltons and Spencer's Mountain, of course, both were inspired by the work of Earl Hamner. Now, we'll have to go back and watch the film again to pick her out!
