Sam Fuller

Sam Fuller is on of my favorite directors and writers. Steel Helmet, Pickup on South St.,The Man Who Shot Jesse James, and Shock Corridor are some of his best work. He had a knack for great work on a low budget. He was not afraid of addressing controversial issues.

I admire Sam Fuller for the same reasons. Especially since some topics were strictly taboo at the time he put them on film.

My only complaint, like with many pre-1970s movies, the characters aren't realistic. For instance, the place Cathy worked had to be the most high class, snazziest strip joint in the world. Maybe only the highest rollers were customers and most healthy, well adjusted women worked there? The costumes rivaled any Las Vegas show.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.
