Welles' Take On Josef K's Innocence or Guilt

Possible spoilers if you haven't read the book or seen the movie yet.

The book begins with the line "Someone must have been telling lies about Josef K, because one morning, without having done anything wrong, he was arrested."

The book plays out without a firm conclusion about K's guilt or innocence.

In the book, In My Father's Shadow written by Welles' daughter Chris Welles Feder and published in 2009, there's a small bit about Anthony Perkins asking Welles' about K's character and how he's coming off as guilty and Welles retorts something like, "that's because he is guilty!"

I can't find the exact quote and unfortunately there's no index in the book but that's the gist and I thought if you liked the book and the movie, you might find that bit of trivia interesting.
