Car chase
In The Pink Panther car chase George (Robert Wagner) is driving a little red convertible. Anyone know what kind of car that is?

shareI´m not sure but I´d say it would be italian. A Fiat or Innocenti perheaps. I know David Niven´s convertible was for sure an Aston Martin but the little red one in Robert Wagner´s hands would take some looking into.
It´s, no doubt European. Fiat, Innocenti, maybe something from France or even perheaps some kind of German NSU. Hints anyone ?
David Niven's car was actually a Ferrari. At one point you can see the horse ornament on the front grill, and at the dinner with Princess Dala it is mentioned that Sir Charles "drives a Ferrari, enters with a key, and resorts to collective bargaining." However, I would also be interested to know what kind of car George was driving.
shareThe car George is driving is an Autobianchi Bianchina Cabriolet, probably a 1962 or 1963 model. See the following sites, particularly the last:

A cursory search of the net turned up one or two cars for sale in Italy for ‘round about 9000-10000 Euro. We are apparently not the only admirers of this rare, Fiat-powered beauty.
