when I bought the box set I had only seen the very first pink panther (1963) and although the other ones are all very different I never regretted buying the complete box. tons of extras and a very nice box set to have in the shelf.

I don't think 'Return of the Pink Panther' is included in the box set. (It's put out by a different company than all the rest.)

yeah, Return is still being distributed under the MGM label, like the rest, but because of special legal circumstances, it's the one film that MGM doesn't have the full rights to, so it couldn't be included in the box set for some reason, but it IS out on DVD separately, just like Inspector Clouseau (1968), Curse of the Pink Panther (1983), and Son of the Pink Panther (1993)...

and i join the others in highly recommending the boxset... my only complaint is that there aren't many special features, but there are some features on a bonus disc, so that's good... plus it's just nice to have so many films together...

Buy the five films that have Sellers in them. You won't be disappointed. The other are weak. Trail of the Pink Panther includes old footage of Sellers so you might want to catch that one on cable.

well Trail is already included in the boxset, so there'd be no point in catching it on cable... :-P

the one disappointing thing, though, as i was saying, is that Return - which i think is one of Sellers' top Panther films - is not included in the box set... you have to buy it separately if you want it... and i'd say it's definitely worth getting... one of the funniest of the series! ;-)

Well, i bought the box set and Return seperately (the focus features edition), then I just took out the bonus DVD in the box set, but it in the Return box, and put Return in the box set at the right place, so I have all of the movies in the one set. In only cost about 59 dollars, so it's not really that much.
