Why did the Princess help out Sir Charles at the end

I may have missed something but it was late when I was watching the ending. I do not understand why the Princess would help Inspector Clouseau's wife out with framing the Inspector. Was it because she was in love with him? Think that part was kind of dumb, unless I missed something. Please help.

You need to watch the film more closely.

There's some question as to whether Sir Charles even stole it. Remember when the princess and her bodyguard spoke furtively about 'changing plans'? They could have been the ones who "stole it", just so she wouldn't have to give it back to the government.

That being the case, the princess knew Sir Charles was innocent, so she helped him get off (pun not intended).

are you people dumb????????

the princess stole it! for she was to give the diamond to her people, so she stole it herself and framed the phantom!

reply

I still dont understand why she would frame the inspector? Ok so charles charmed her so she decided not to frame him but rather the inspector... but the inspector was an innocent man.

Remember Sir Charles saying at the end of the movie how Clouseau would be free as soon as the phantom struck again? He, or maybe Simone, probably explained her that, so she wouldn't feel guilty about sending Clouseau to prison for a few days.

you arrived home, found Miguel with Maria, and killed him in a rit of fealous jage!

reply

That still doesn't explain anything. We KNOW Charles didn't steal the diamond; the princess did. Knowing that he was going to, though, I don't know why she would have helped him.

Princess Dala LIKED Sir Charles. She was disappointed when she learned he was The Phantom and was planning to steal her diamond... but after, Madame Clouseau told her that Sir Charles had thought about NOT stealing it after all-- as he'd fallen for the Princess, but wound up going thru with the robbery anyway, on Madame Clouseau's urging.

By setting up Clouseau, Sir Charles and George got off, and Clouseau no doubt was released soon after when The Phantom struck again. (I watched this again just last night.)

Because the Princess was a nasty little skank.

I agree. Even if The Phantom didn't steal it, he tried. I'm just so angry about the whole thing. LOLz

Well, watch the whole film and you might get an idea as to what is going on. Hopefully, in the seven years you wrote this, you did.

I think she knew at that point the diamond would go back to 'the people.'

Rather than furtively hiding it and taking it out to look at from time to time, she puts it to good use, which is a nice way of sending "The Panther" on its way with good karma attached to it.
