the new chanel commercial and its implications
dunno if i'm alone here but does anyone else see the irony in the fact that chanel have just released a comercial for their lipstick based on the openning scene from this movie
when a lot of the existential themes in new wave cinema - ok, not particularly this one - include the questioning if not rejection of superficial aspects of human existence.
like a bout de souffle, cleo 5 to 7 etc etc
dunno, the original of that scene just makes me think of the rejection of all of those things. not the purchase of a brand new lipstick...
argh, im not putting it very well... basically i find it contradictory.
i know im reading a bit too much into it, just thought i'd point it out tho, little observation :)
