I'm currently viewing the TSPDT Top 100 from top to bottom...

This film is #56, and unfortunately, it is the very first one I did not enjoy. I recognize it as a fine piece of cinema, but it did not reel me into it's vision. It was not the speed, as I thoroughly enjoyed Tokyo Story, 2001, etc. It was not the "rich people with problems" plot, as 8 1/2 is likely my favorite (or one of) films and I adore La Dolce Vita, L'Avventura, and The Rules of the Game.

I honestly don't know what it is. Maybe I just don't like Godard, though I did like Breathless a bit...

Oh well, it's about time I was displeased. 55 movies is a good record.

Are there any others who feel this way?

This is probably my least favorite Godard. Pierrot Le Fou is, imo, his masterpiece and probably the most complex film I've ever seen. But Godard never really made "films" now did he? Alphaville is probably my second favorite.

Maybe not everybody expects to be (only) entertained by a movie... there has to be movies for different kind audiences. just because a movie doesn't reach your expectations it doesn't mean it is best.

wow, godard had 15 movies in the top 1000 of all time. pretty impressive
